Finished project

We have now completed our final project and our evaluation. We scripted our evaluation before recording it as a voiceover on our film. we had to address 7 points in our evaluation;
* in what ways does your media project use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products

*How does your media project represent particular social groups?

* What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

*Who would be the audience of your media product?

*How did you attract/ address your audience

*What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product

* Looking back at your preliminary task what do you feel you have learnt in the progression  from it to the final project?

In our evaluation we discussed each of these 7 points whilst adding in some of our own points as well.
We answered all of the questions together so we could all add our points of view, we then answered the final question individually.

Changing Our Title

After we had done our research regarding the font Helvetica, we decided to change our company logo as we wanted to make it more appealing and professional than it already was.

We decided to do some research into the available fonts in Livetype and also look into the possible graphics which we were able to add.

As a group we liked Helvetica the most and decided to use this in order to improve out company logo and make it more appealing and professional.
As mentioned in our previous blog, we research Helvetica and watched a short video regarding the font and found out that it is used all over the world, in everyday life and by many different companies.

Our company logo is now much more eye catching and professional and helps to finalise our film. Below is a sample text of the font Helvetica.

Choosing the titles and developing our soundtrack

After finishing the editing for our film, we had to make sure that we included titles.

To help us select the right fonts which had to be appropriate, eye catching, appealing and interesting, we watched a video to help us.

The video shown on You Tube called Helvetica Everyday Font gave us information about the font Helvetica. We decided to use this font after watching the video as we found out many facts about it such as;
* Its a popular font used within the media
* Major firms use it to advertise their products and company name such as Kodak, Jeep, BMW, Toyota, Tupperware, Nestle, SAAB, Oral-b, The North Face and Panasonic.

To create the titles for our actors names, we used a font we found on Live type known as Pigi. We chose to use this font because it is a nice flowing italic which makes it a bit different from other fonts, such as Arial or Times New Roman.

Soundtrack

As well as doing research into our titles, we also have developed and completed our soundtrack, which accompanies our film, today. We have made the soundtrack today using the software 'Soundtrack'.
Our film starts off eerie and then the pace picks up for a chase scene. We decided to make our soundtrack accompany the visual footage and story line. The beginning of our soundtrack is eerie and slow which matches the on screen footage. The footage then turns into a chase and the soundtrack quickens to match this. Our quick soundtrack is a recurring riff which has a fast tempo and is also catchy. We did research into chase scenes and in all of them, the soundtrack which accompanied it had a fast tempo which, in turn, made the chase seem faster and more interesting. We believe that our soundtrack goes very well with our footage and we are all very happy with it.

Final Editing

After uploading all of our footage onto Final Cut Express, we spent quite a few lessons choosing the footage we wanted to use and editing it.

We had to make sure that we chose the right shots  to help build up the suspense and in order to tell the our films story line. Our story line is about a heartbroken male who had lost his girlfriend after she had been murdered. The man is set out for revenge and goes in search for her killer, however, he blame a stranger who he believes is his girlfriend killer. He is very confused and has mixed up emotions, therefore, causing him to be mentally unstable. He has been utterly destroyed by his girlfriends death and feels he has nothing to live for any more.

We are pleased with all of our editing and we now have to work on our titles and soundtrack to go with the footage.
